AptDeco is a marketplace that allows customers to buy and sell their furniture (new or used) via our website AptDeco.com.

We offer customers a wide variety of home furnishing options and make the website very easy to navigate to get exactly what they need.

We also handle all of the pickups and deliveries via our delivery team which usually consist of a driver, their associate (or partner) and delivery supplies to ensure the furniture is picked up and delivered.

Our dispatchers serve a vital role in our Operations by assisting our team and customers.

  • Communication with the delivery team via an app we use.
  • Communication with the customers via email to address any issues with them and deliver great customer service.
  • Manage the routes for the day (normally between 7-9 routes per day).
  • Handling any issues that may come up that prevents the pick up or delivery of furniture from happening.
  • Escalate issues to the customer service manager or the Operation’s manager regarding anything that can not be resolved immediately.
  • Proactively ensuring teams are on time for their delivery by making adjustments and moving tasks around in order to get to every task within the customer’s window.
  • Join daily meetings regarding the routes the day before as the dispatcher will provide notes that we can use to further our successful areas or improve in others.
  • Update the Operation’s team every couple of hours with information about how the routes are going for the day.
  • Create COIs for customers that need them for their building to conduct the pick up or delivery of furniture.

Requirements

  • Great interpersonal skills (will be in contact with delivery team but also customers from time to time)
  • Intermediate computer skills (ability to learn about programs we utilize for our business such as Slack, OnFleet and Google Sheets/Docs).
  • Able to work at least 2 days out of our 5 days a week (Tuesday through Saturday is our operating days. Need the person accepting the position to be available for Saturdays specifically). Morning (AM) shifts begin at 6am-2pm and evening (PM) shifts begin at 1pm-closing (when the last team has completed the last task of the day and ranges from 7pm-10pm).
  • The ability to work with within a team and individually
  • Intermediate knowledge of how to read the map of the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT).
  • Able to follow AptDeco’s dispatch guidelines.
